Black Friday and Cyber Monday can be fun – and sometimes overwhelming. Here are 5 easy tips to navigate your way for an easier Black Friday.
Make a List | If you’re holiday shopping, make your list beforehand! Make a list and ideas what people might enjoy. When it comes to beauty, think about categories they’re interested in – eyes, brushes, skincare, etc. When your list is organized, you can to scan through deals much quicker!
Take advantage of the internet. | Companies typically release teasers of their deals before the big day before Thanksgiving. They understand shoppers are shopping earlier every year and want to see deals beforehand. Sephora released their Black Friday deals exclusively on their app, while Ulta already rolled out Cyber Fundays and price slashes on a variety of brands. Use that internet and check out what your favorite stores and retailers have lined up!
Take your time | When hitting the stores in-person, I employ a specific rule: take your time. Don’t immediately buy what you see. It’s totally fine to pick it up and hold onto it (without shoving the person reaching for it in front of you. I’m looking at you, woman with the sharpest elbows at that Sephora in 2014.). I’ve taken advantage of my hands and store baskets for this – I’ll pick up a bunch of items, put them in the shopping bag and when nothing else looks interesting, move to an empty aisle. Next I’ll sort through my findings and consider whether there’s anyone who’d really love these items, or – if it’s for me – think long and hard, “Do I really need this?”. Again – take your time!
Shop online – it’s a blessing. | This is my preferred method for a couple reasons. One being I can browse from the comfort of my pillows, sweats, and blankets. The other is enjoying Thanksgiving as I like with family and loved ones. There’s something to be said about enjoying the holiday without the worry of shopping, or even cutting short the day to get to the stores before midnight.
Bring your list with you. | My friends lovingly tease me for carrying post-its with me, but I do it for a good reason! I’ll cross items off (it’s a great feeling of accomplishment!) or refer to it when I need a refresher. Let’s not forget that batteries drain, why not have a physical reminder with you?
And one bonus tip – remember to have fun with your shopping!
