As you probably already know, Sephora and Moschino released a limited collection in August. It sold out by the morning of the release, which isn’t surprising how cute the packaging is. It included a highlighter duo, a 21-shade eyeshadow palette, lip gloss chain, a mini shadow palette, brush set, mirror and sleeping mask. The whole set was adorable and I picked up what appealed most. Read on to see what I am loving from the tiny splurge!
I’m not the hugest lip gloss person and really need to use more of what I already have, so I opted out of that. But I did splurge on the 21-shade eyeshadow palette, brushes, and sleeping mask. I’ll cover the main favorite here, the eyeshadow palette. It’s the famous Moschino bear that opens up to reveal a gorgeous assortment of colors.
What stood out most was the variety of shades. There’s been a ton of collections coming out with a majority of warm tones, which has been overwhelming. This palette has a good balance between warm and cool shades, even a black shadow. I always appreciate an option or few to create a smoky eye, if needed. I’d also like to point out there’s a decent balance between shimmers vs. mattes. Some palettes seem to go heavy on one or the other but they chose the right shades to come as a shimmer.
I wanted to feature in the swatch photo how well these shades blended into one another. Overall they’re buildable and blended well. The only real problem I noticed was how much more work it was to remove the blue shades, but that’s nothing to really complain about. All I needed was my Clinique eye makeup remover held on top a little longer before wiping away. I tested this out as a look during a 10-hour day. By the time I arrived home to remove my makeup, it was completely intact! This was with the makeup on top of Milani eye primer, but I was still shocked there wasn’t smudging around. Unfortunatley this palette is sold out but there are some kind of crazy eBay postings going on…I wouldn’t go crazy to spend $135 on it (unless I was a die-hard Moschino fan). Yeah, there are some high prices going on out there for this.
I really fell in love with Pennys From Heaven, Fort Knox, Kisses, Moon Dust, Spun Gold, Twilight Blue, and A*T*Tude. I’m not sure if there are dupes of them out there, but I’m eager to do some research.
